Jeanne Cattau, LCSW, LMHP

Mrs. Cattau has been working within the field of Mental Health since 1995.  She graduated with honors from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1993 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology.  While attending VA Wesleyan, Mrs. Cattau completed an independent research project titled the “Effects of the Level of and Timing of Anxiety on Reaction Times” which was accepted for publication in the VA Journal of Science in 1993. She went on to complete her Master of Social Work Degree from Norfolk State University in 1995.

Mrs. Cattau holds licensures as a Master Social Worker and a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner in the state of Nebraska.  Throughout her years as a mental health provider, she has experience in working in acute in-patient settings with children, adolescents, and adults.  She also has worked within group home and community mental health settings and is currently in private practice.  Further experience includes working with home-based and intensive family preservation as well as the facilitating of parent education groups.

 Currently Mrs. Cattau works with a wide array of mental health issues and has experience in working with individuals as young as 3 years of age on into the geriatric years.  Her area of specialty is with children and families.  Mrs. Cattau enjoys working with behavioral and mood disorders with children and adolescents as well as adults who are faced with depression, anxiety, abuse and trauma related issues as well as grief/loss issues.

 Mrs. Cattau currently is in private practice at Apex Therapy Services which is a company she helped develop in 2001 with fellow co-workers.  Apex is committed to offering quality mental health care services to their clientele.  Apex brings a lot of diversity within their practice as they have professionals that have experience in working with most mental health and dual diagnosis related issues.
